Welcome
We welcome you as a donor to the Glenn School Clothing Sale! 100% of the
proceeds from the sale of your donated items directly benefit the school’s enrichment fund, which provides scholarships,
additional educational training for teachers, and playground enhancement. Many
of the items that are not sold during the sale are then donated to various charities around Georgia and the world. Your contribution,
no matter how big or small, makes a real difference in your community. Thank you!
Please
read these guidelines carefully— they contain useful information about how to best prepare your items. For this sale we will sell only Spring & Summer clothing for girls and boys
(in sizes from infant to 12), children’s shoes (sizes infant to 5, only specialty shoes are accepted in sizes over 5),
accessories, baby equipment, toys, books, DVDs (no copies) and games (board games to computer/video games—non-violent

General Annoucements
Spring & Summer Clothing Only:
For this sale we will sell only Spring
& Summer clothing for girls and boys (in sizes from infant to 12), children’s shoes (sizes infant to 5, only
specialty shoes are accepted in sizes over 5), accessories, baby equipment, toys, books, DVDs (please, no copies) and games
(board games to computer/video games—non-violent only!). We will continue to include sports uniforms, scouting
uniforms, costumes/dress-up, and swimming suits and will highlight this information for our buyers.
No
longer accepting size 14 clothing.
No
longer accepting Maternity Clothes.
Please note that we are no longer accepting boys/girls size 14
clothing items as of Fall 2008. Please also note that as of Spring 2010 we will no longer accept maternity clothing
items. Neither of these catagories sells well and both take up a lot of space on the racks.
Items You Wish to Donate:
Select items carefully! All
clothing and shoes must be clean and in excellent condition (free of holes and stains) to be included in the sale. Clothing and shoes offered for sale should be current.
More “vintage” items are often considered to be dated by the purchasers and do not sell. Please place
clothing items to be donated on wire hangers if possible.
Toys, games and puzzles
must be complete. Double check that all
game pieces/parts are included before sealing the box.
Infant/toddler car seats
do not sell unless they are in superb condition. We suggest they be fewer than four years old and very clean. Booster seats are always in demand. They should also be fewer than four
years old. No car seat brought
into the sale should have been involved in any accident, even fender-benders.
The Glenn Sale does not accept
the following items to sell:
stuffed animals, encyclopedias,
pacifiers (even new), war toys or toy weapons, violent games/movies/books,
VHS tapes, or cassette tapes. Do not bring out-of-season
clothes, sports equipment, or other items not usually associated with Spring & Summer.
Will your clothes pass
the “sniff test?” Clothes with a strong musty, mothball, or smoky
odor cannot be accepted.
Donation Drop Off:
No appointments are needed
to drop off items. Please arrive any time during the donor drop-off period. However, be aware that we adhere strictly to these hours. We do not accept donations outside of the specified drop off period.
Please bring all
your donated items to the East entrance of the YAAB (See maps and parking). Charity receipts for donations are available at this time.
Preview Night
To show our appreciation to our sellers and donors, we
host a Preview Night for those sellers and donors who deliver items that we think are in excess of $50.00. You, as the registered donor, are the only person to be admitted
for Preview Night. We will check photo IDs
at the door—please help us maintain the integrity of Preview Night. Our doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Please be courteous to those sellers/donors who have waited
in line by not saving places.
Donation
FAQ
Why
can't I donate items at some time other than donation drop-off?
The Glenn Clothing Sale
staff has a team of people on hand during the designated donation drop-off period to prepare all of the donated items for
sale by helping to sort, price, tag, inventory and hang all the items. We simply do not have the people-power
to perform all these tasks at any other time.
How do I qualify for a Preview Night?
Sellers
and Donors qualify for Preview Night if they have at least $50 worth of merchandise that they are selling or
donating. The value of the items will be determined at your drop off/check-in time.
Glenn
School staff and parent volunteers run the Glenn Clothing Sale. Proceeds from the sale support the Glenn School for
Young Children at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.
We thank Glenn
Memorial United Methodist Church and its staff for their efforts on behalf of the sale. We also thank the many people
who donate their time, effort, and goods to make the Glenn Clothing Sale a continued success.
